We have provisioned two new sets of Backup Servers which will replace the current R1Soft1 (Daily) and Duplicity1 (Weekly) Backup Servers.

The new servers will have the following specifications:-
  • Intel Core i7 860 2.8GHz (8MB Cache, with HyperThreading)
  • 4GB (Duplicity) / 8GB (R1Soft) DDR3 RAM
  • 24x 2TB SATA Hard Drives (!)
  • 1x 16GB SSD Boot Drive
  • Hardware RAID 6 Array

With the huge capacity of these new Backup Servers, it will allow us to grow our business without worrying about the lack of disk space for backups.

We will also transition from R1Soft CDP 2.0 to R1Soft CDP 3.0 with the new R1Soft2 Backup Server.

Once the above Backup Servers are fully setup, the current Backup Servers will be decommissioned.
